Healing with Sound & Vibration
We've probably all heard the expression "Music hath charms to soothe the savage breast". Turns out it's not just folklore, there's a lot of science behind it. Studies have shown that when people listen to their favorite music (no matter what kind it is) during medical proceedures, they are more relaxed, report less pain, and have faster recovery times. Music is usually played during a reiki session to help induce relaxation in the client. Every object, organic/living or otherwise, has a resonant frequency. Ultrasound is used in several ways medically, both to "picture" a person's inner organs and to rid the body of blockages such as kidney stones, which are actually broken up by zapping them with sound waves. A sound healing practitioner may use voice, bells, drums, tuning forks, gongs, singing bowls, or any combination of things to produce the right vibrational frequency.
