YOU'VE PROBABLY HEARD OF SOMEONE (OR YOU MAY HAVE) BEEN FEELING BLUE, TICKLED PINK, SEEING RED, OR EVEN TURNING GREEN WITH ENVY. Science has shown that colors can affect our mood, our energy, and even how much we eat! Marketers very carefully choose the colors of packaging and labels to appeal to us in a certain way, or to appeal to a particular demographic. Some prisons paint their walls in colors that are meant to be calming and soothing, and TV talk shows are known for their "green rooms" where guests can relax before going on air. Many bathrooms and hospitals are white, as this is associated with being clean and clincal. Sometimes people get drunk and or angry and show their "true colors". So Color Therapists (also known as Chroma or Chromo Therapists) attempt to use different colors of light to change and balance our moods and energies. For example, lack of red could mean a lack of energy, but an excess of red could mean aggressiveness & hostility. Some alternative health practitioners even believe that you can get the energy of the color by eating that color of food.
